Medical Affairs - MSLs training event

AS&K has a wealth of experience in developing training programs for sales reps and medical science liaisons (MSLs) – both face-to-face and digitally. When one of our major pharma clients decided to implement online training for their European MSLs on the communication strategy for the coming year, we were asked to design a program that was as engaging as a live event.

Engaging learners in online training can be tough, especially with the in depth scientific content needed by MSLs. We made some key decisions early on: the training would be live for 2 weeks to enable participants to work the training around their busy schedules, we would incorporate a variety of learning formats to entice users and maintain engagement, and we would include input from Key Thought Leaders for participants to hear real world insights. 

And we would make a big effort to remind those registered to maintain high participation in the training. Eye-catching eBlasts were shared throughout the training period, and a welcome kit was posted to every MSL, featuring a (chocolate!) countdown calendar and other materials to support their training.

 Results: We received a record number of registrations from MSLs around Europe and a 98% engagement rate. Extremely positive feedback was also received:

“I found the videos and podcasts really interesting as the information that was shared was relevant to my everyday work.”
